Week 4 Reading Reflection

This week's reading was all about creativity and innovation. I have always considered my self a creative person and found this reading pretty insightful. Something I found interesting/ surprising was the critical thinking process model, which involved 4 phases: background knowledge, incubation, ideas, and evaluation/ implementation of the ideas. The digram was good to look at because it really is a science. This was a pretty simple and straightforward chapter so nothing really confused me, but I id have questions regarding the major misconceptions. For example, the reading suggests that innovation doesn't rely on dreams and blue-sky ideas. I don't agree with this because I truly believe it is important to dream big, even if we have to start small. I also question the little amount of emphasis on technology. Technology is a blessing and a curse in today's world, but it's cool to go on websites like Reddit to see what strangers think of certain ideas. It's a great way to connect. These were my questions as well as what I didn't agree with the author about.
